2023 Acura Integra Starts Production, Delivering by June with the New Hatchback—What to Expect

The 2023 Acura Integra announced that it had already started production in its Marysville, Ohio facility. It is the first time that the company has moved its manufacturing from Japan to North America for the brand. A notable Japanese car legend, the Integra now embraces a new lifestyle as a sporty hatchback instead of the famed two-door coupe from the Land of the Rising Sun.

Acura announced that it has already started the new 2023 Acura Integra production at its Marysville plant, with its first batches rolling off the finished vehicles off the plant.

It makes history the first Integras that move its production to the United States, officially making it a Japanese car with a US Domestic Market (USDM) heritage.

The new Integra is rolling off with four doors and a liftback tailgate, and it takes on the design of the famed Type R version with the same rear-ending.

Now, it receives a more sporty look than before, but the company is not pushing a Type R version famous in the 90s JDM car scene.

Acura Integra is Coming by June—Expectations?

The Japanese car company from Honda said that the first models of the Acura Integra are coming to dealerships by June, and it is only a month away from its public release. Users can choose from a CVT transmission (for the base version) or a six-speed manual that brings a 1.5-liter I4 engine that still features the famed VTEC technology from Honda.

It can output up to 200 horsepower, says the company. It comes with three trims for the vehicle, the Base Integra, Integra A-Spec, and Integra A-Spec with Technology Package.

The 2023 Acura Integra is Not JDM Anymore

The Japanese car culture is one massive scene, and many brands and vehicles bring homage to its heritage from the Land of the Rising Sun, where the tuner culture first started. Some of the famous cars in the lists of many car guys and enthusiasts include many from Toyota, with the Corolla, 86, and Supra that have contemporary models now.

Also, do not forget the famous Honda Civic that is still an ever-popular staple in the industry, with the former models bringing the famous EG9 Hatchback, EK9 Type R, SiR line, and many more. The modern Honda Civic Type R has already made its name recognized in the industry as it set the world record for the Nurburgring last 2017.

Many cars have come and gone, but the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) scene lives on with the world to collect and build for all the fans.

Now, a modern classic is taking the stage with the Acura Integra. Still, it is foregoing its Type R heritage and sticking with a four-door hatch that is an ideal family car and has its predecessors' heart.

Japanese-engineering cars focus on small engine displacements but present a lightweight body and nimble driving features, something that the 2023 Integra is bringing to the market.
