Sony has not yet teased any information about the potential specs of its rumored flagship headphones WH-1000XM5, but the latest leak suggests that it already has retail packaging.
Over Reddit, many people have seen that the upcoming wearable products could be just lurking on the internet. Apparently, some sources have revealed the alleged details about its battery.
Sony WH-1000XM5 Packaging Leaked on Reddit
Previously, early rumors showed that these WH-1000XM5 headphones would come with a new redesign on their connector. Aside from this, the speculations suggest that it will sport a thinner headband this time compared to its predecessor.
However, the recent report from the Dutch news site TechnikNews is rather different. Instead of tackling more about its alleged appearance, the article focuses on noting possible details about its battery.
According to the source, the rumored flagship headphones are expected to come with an improved battery life paired with ANC (active noise cancellation) feature.
Judging from the retail packaging of the device, Sony WH-1000XM5 will support up to 30 hours of battery life. A previous report noted that it would have up to 40 hours of battery life, so the current leak is a downgrade, per The Verge.
40-Hour Battery Life and Other Rumors
In another round of speculations, The Walkman Blog claims that Sony's rumored wearable devices could possibly achieve a 40-hour battery life with an audio codec like what we have seen from AAC.
For instance, the XM4 model boasts up to 38 hours of battery life while the user uses the SBC codec. Other than that, the rest of the features are not used, including the ANC.
The packaging of these leaked headphones also hints that they would come in 360 Reality Audio Format. The XM4 headphones have previously adopted this feature, as well as a special voice assistant support feature.
As of writing, we haven't yet heard any word from Sony about its possible pricing, but there might be some lead about its value once it is released.
Sony's WH-1000XM4 sits at $349.99, so the potential price of the WH-1000XM5 headphones could be just near that value. It's a matter of time before we officially see these flagships, but there's a huge chance that they will be available this year.
WF-1000XM4 Previous Rumors
Speaking of the previous model, Tech Times wrote that the WF-1000XM4 earbuds were rumored to have the noise-canceling capability. The leak also pointed out that they would come with 360-degree audio and a smaller case.
The Walkman Blog, the source which made a bold claim about the 40-hour battery life of WH-1000XM5, has also scribbled speculation about these wearables.
The tech site predicted that the value of these earbuds would be much cheaper in the United States compared to their European counterpart.
