Samsung's Galaxy S22 flagship has received spectacular features, notably on its cameras. The Android 12-based One UI is also available for this next-gen device.
It should be noted that the South Korean tech titan hinted at bringing the advanced features to its older devices. This time, the announcement came true since the company will indeed bring them out to the previous Galaxy flagships.
Samsung to Bring New Camera Updates For Older Flagships
As XDA Developers reported on Wednesday, May 4, Samsung is set to add the advanced camera features that are currently available on the Galaxy S22 series.
The older Samsung devices are expected to receive the following updates which include:
- Auto-framing effects and support for video call app extension
- Revamped night portrait
- Improved auto-framing
- Enhanced camera quality for third-party cameras and more
The report also notes that these features could arrive in the next few days. For those who have been using Galaxy Z Fold 3, your device can now utilize telephoto lens support, in addition to Expert RAW support in Pro Mode.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expected to receive a limited set of updates with the likes of auto-framing effects, camera improvements for social apps, and video call extension support.
For those who rely on the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, and Galaxy Z Fold 2 lineup, your devices are set to have a night portrait feature.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G/LTE, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be having a revamped auto-framing feature.
Moreover, the Samsung Community forums show that the video call app extension support (along with the update) will be available on Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Flip 5G/LTE, Galaxy S20, and Galaxy S21 FE series.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G/LTE will welcome the auto-framing effects while the Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy Note 10, and Galaxy Z Fold will be the recipients of the app extension support.
XDA Developers has also mentioned in its report that the Galaxy S21 series has already received a new camera update which is particularly available in select European regions and South Korea.
