On Wednesday, May 4, Microsoft announced that it is updating the Xbox mobile app on both iOS and Android to let players share their game moments in the form of Snapchat-style Stories.
Xbox Mobile Apps Can Now Share Contents
Screenshots, gameplay clips, and achievements are all compatible with Xbox mobile app's new sharing format. These can be accessed by tapping the "+" button next to the player's gamertag on the app's home screen, according to The Verge.
The content will be visible on the profile for 72n hours, and there are also new network management features coming to the platform.
Stories were all the rage years ago, with every social media platform, from Instagram to Spotify, to LinkedIn, imitating the format in their respective apps.

Even though the trend seems to have abated recently, with the focus now shifting to TikTok-style feeds, the Stories format does make sense in the Xbox mobile app.
Video games are a visual medium, and Stories are a great way of showing full-screen imagery.
Aside from the new Xbox app feature, Microsoft has also announced a new Quality of Service or QoS tagging feature on Xbox consoles, according to GameSpot.
It is created to prioritize traffic that is sensitive to network congestion like multiplayer gaming or party chat and is accessible in the Advanced section of the Network settings menu.
However, the support page says that the feature will need to be supported by the user's home router or their ISP network and cautions that it might cause problems with some networks.
The Stories feature on Xbox mobile app is now available in Australia, and it will be rolled out to other regions soon.
In 2018, Microsoft added the party chat feature on the Xbox mobile app.
In 2021, Microsoft added the speech-to-text feature on Xbox.
New Xbox Games Coming This May
Microsoft has also revealed the next lineup of games that are coming to Xbox Game Pass over the next couple of weeks.
After the arrival of NBA 2K22, the subscribers have six more games to look forward to between May 5 and May 12, according to App Trigger.
Starting May 5, subscribers can now play "Loot River" on PC, console, and cloud. This game sees players explore procedurally-generated labyrinths, combining dungeon crawling action with several roguelike elements, resulting in real-time combat.
Armed with the power of the Relic, players can change the ground and slide the floating relics to solve puzzles and approach combat in a fun and unique way.
Also, on Thursday, May 5, Xbox Game Pass will add "Trek to Yomi" and "Citizen Sleeper." "Trek to Yomi" is a cinematic action-adventure game that is inspired by a classic samurai film.
The game follows the story of a samurai named Hiroki as he voyages beyond life and death as he tries to make good on a failed promise to save the people that he was supposed to protect.
Meanwhile, "Citizen Sleeper" is a sci-fi RPG with mechanics inspired by the freedom of tabletop RPGs.
On May 10, three more games will be added: "Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition," which is a visual novel adventure, "Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising," which is an action JRPG, and "This War of Mine: Final Cut," which is a remaster of war survival set in World War I.
