WhatsApp Status Updates: Soon Available on iOS Chat List
WABeta Info released a report regarding a newly spotted feature on the famous messaging app from the Meta company, focusing on the Status Updates for WhatsApp users. It would not necessarily have a Twitter or Facebook-like status update, and it is not the same as Instagram's Status Emoji available in the story carousel.
The Status is not a new feature for WhatsApp, but it is not utilized by the app users for a long time now since the company introduced it. The WhatsApp Status is similar to the Instagram Stories, with a 24-hour expiry to whatever the user sets it to, having different media features like text, photo, video, and GIF.
The WABeta Info report said that WhatsApp would be bringing an update for this in the future, giving more users to explore the feature.
WhatsApp Status Updates is a Leak Spotted by Beta Info
Clicking on a person's chat profile icon on top of the chat list will let them view the Status, and it will bring users more information about their friends and WhatsApp contact without messaging them.
The leak said that future updates would carry over this feature from WhatsApp, and the company will have a chance to enjoy more of its quality for more integration, unlike before.
Searching for the person via the search bar will also allow users to access Status.
