TikTok is sports media's future. Well, this is what Mark Cuban, a popular American billionaire entrepreneur, and media personality, claims.
Ever since the global COVID-19 pandemic began, TikTok has experienced daily users increase. It became quite popular because of its unique content.
Unlike Facebook, Twitter, and other popular social media platforms, TikTok only focuses on short videos. Because of this, almost anyone can create their content, leading to more viewers and content creators.
But, how will TikTok actually become the future of sports media?

He shared this detail during "The Colin Cowherd Podcast." Cuban, the owner of the NBA team Dallas Mavericks, explained that TikTok's AI helps individuals find content that will likely get their attention.
"If my son and I like Luka Doncic's dunks, NBA stuff, and dogs, [we're] going to get a stream of that," said the billionaire.
He added that young individuals (16, 12, 15 olds, and younger) prefer watching short clips of the NBA and other popular international sports.
Mark further explained that, unlike older individuals, young people would not really watch a full game in one sitting.
Baseball, Football To Benefit the Most
Some sports take longer to finish, such as baseball and football. Because of this, many young individuals become bored when watching them.
Because of this, Cuban said that baseball, a sport that has lots of death scenes between plays, is one of the major sports that can benefit from TikTok's short-video style.
The billionaire suggested that Major League Baseball (MLB) needs to create its own TikTok channel. His suggestion might actually work since the Search Engine Journal reported that TikTok is now the most downloaded app in the first quarter of 2022.
From January to March, the popular video platform was installed more than 175 million times. If you want to see more details about the popularity of TikTok this 2022, you can visit this link.
On the other hand, the new TikTok Profile Views History feature recently disappointed some users.
Meanwhile, the TikTok Drop Challenge became viral. Even celebrities, such as Mandy Moore, participated in the new trend.
