MetaDocs is a platform that sells NFT with animated or cartoon Doctors that give medical advice to those who own the token, but it is not exactly known for its accreditation. Many reports are skeptical of the advice they give to clients and those that purchased the token, with it crossing legal and ethical boundaries when it provides the public medical information.
MetaDocs NFT: Animated Doctors Give Medical Advice to People
The Verge reported that a company called MetaDocs gives people "NFT Doctors" to talk to them and give them advice on particular questions they have. It is a one-on-one setup for the person that bought the NFT, and it will provide them with an opportunity to express intimacy and other emotions or feelings to the virtual doctor and real-life patient.
However, there are also skeptics regarding this new NFT Doctor, especially with BuzzFeed News' report that says this health initiative is a mess. People can purchase a doctor they want, and they are based on TikTok-famous health professionals that come as animated versions of themselves.
Here, people may have the opportunity of addressing their concerns and have a specific talk with the health professional.
Reports Claim MetaDocs Have No Legal Medical Right
The reports claim that MetaDocs have no legal, medical right to do this, primarily as it focuses on NFT animations to appear as health professionals.
MetaDocs founder Dr. Sina Joorabachi, the platform's goal is to deliver an experience with a one-on-one talk with a health professional and for users to feel that they are up close and have a personal connection.
NFT and Its Offers Now
NFTs are a massive trend in the blockchain and digital world now, with some people dedicating their lives and work to the token which others would enjoy or purchase. NFT games were a massive thing in 2021, and people used them for their livelihood or enjoyment, more than what one perceives it as a source of entertainment.
It even transcended to people working on NFTs for health, and it is a venture that connects the wellness of one to the token, giving them more options apart from standard medical care. Some use it for medical records, and some focus on blood donations, which can provide them with a token for their need, more of a digital remembrance.
However, this new venture by MetaDocs borders on presenting itself as a legitimate doctor, and while it is not yet established if the advice and information they give are accredited for telehealth. It is something that one needs to take with a grain of salt.
While NFTs are promising for many industries, masquerading as a helpful service to sell a product is unethical and may lead to harm.
