The Federal Aviation Administration or FAA stated that it wants to revoke the license of a pilot YouTuber after he posted a video titled "I Crashed My Plane."
The agency said that the crash was staged, and now, it demands YouTuber Trevor Jacob to hand over his pilot license.
FAA Wants YouTuber to Hand Over License
According to The New York Times, in the video posted by Jacob, his plane appears to have an engine malfunction, and he jumps out of it while wearing a parachute.
In a letter, the FAA told Jacob that he demonstrated a lack of care, responsibility, and judgment by choosing to jump out of an aircraft and said that he operated the flight to purposefully cause the plane to crash.
Jacob posted the controversial video in December 2019, and it already has more than 17 million views. Just like the several members of the flying community, the FAA expressed doubts about his choices during the incident.

The letter takes issue with the fact that he did not try to restart the engine properly, contact air traffic control for help, or look for an alternative place to land despite there being a lot of options available.
Basically, the FAA says that he did not try to save the plane before jumping out of it.
According to The Verge, the FAA also appears to call into question whether the engine failure was real, noting that Jacob appeared to open the door before the propeller even began slowing down in the video.
Flying magazine pointed out that Jacob typically does not wear a parachute while flying, despite claiming that he does in his video. With that said, many believed his plane was in great shape.
Jalopnik cites reports that it was in a state of disrepair and in need of maintenance and that Jacob tried to fix the plane himself. The plane is a vintage model from 1940, so it is possible that it already had engine troubles.
According to Jacob's Team USA bio page, he has long been into extreme sports. He snowboarded in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
He is also not new to the YouTube fame, as his channel has a video from 2013 titled "Train Horn Prank. Arrested?" with more than 7 million views. He also has a lot of videos of him skydiving.
According to Insider, when asked about the FAA letter, which demands him to turn in his pilot license or face daily fines of more than $1,000, Jacob was surprised. He no longer responds to any emails regarding the issue.
YouTube Bans Streamer
Jacob's issue came after YouTube banned a popular streamer with 6.9 million followers after his tirade clip surfaced.
According to Kotaku, the gaming Youtuber IShowSpeed, was banned from Valorant and YouTube for demeaning a female player during a game.
YouTube has since apologized for the incident, and his apology video that went viral has sparked the ban. This started a discussion about violent outbursts during games, wherein the younger players are forgiven and excused.
In January 2021, Youtube lifted its ban on the UK TalkRadio station.
In March 2021, YouTube banned the disturbing fake animal rescue trend on the platform.
