Instagram and other photo-sharing social sites offer edited images for the past few years. Most of their users are competing with one another to see who has the best-captured images that can be called "Instagrammable."

Now, BeReal plans to change this scenario. Protocol reported that the new photo-sharing app is different from IG, Facebook, and other giant social media platforms.

New Photo-Sharing App BeReal's Uniqueness

According to CNN Business' latest report, ever since BeReal arrived, its monthly users have been rising continuously. This 2022, the average number of active monthly users of the new photo-sharing application increased by more than 300%.

BeReal is unique since it encourages unedited photos, which is quite the opposite of Instagram and Facebook.

Ben Telerski, a Georgetown University student, shared why he likes the new social application.

"What I like about BeReal is I am able to make connections with my friends via social media on a platform that does not incentivize likes, comments, or being artificial," said the avid BeReal user.

Telerski further explained that the new BeReal app is a social media platform where users can share more authentic photos of themselves, making it better compared to IG and FB.

How BeReal Works

BeReal's mechanics are pretty simple. After you install the app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you will receive a notification that will remind you to post any photo you want.

The message will say, "BeReal." You only have two minutes to take a photo of yourself, your friend, your family, or your surrounding.

Once you fail to do so once the two-minute deadline ends, you won't be able to post your photos. On the other hand, the "BeReal" message doesn't have a schedule.

The app's notification will appear randomly each day. If you want to see more about this new photo-sharing app, you can visit this link.

Meanwhile, TikTok and other Chinese apps decided to show their users' locations.

On the other hand, the new Clubhouse Dark Mode feature finally arrived.
