Nintendo may be planning something big, but it is not yet confirmed by the company for now. There were leaks that the Nintendo Switch is gearing up to introduce Game Boy games for the platform, and it may be a massive development for the gaming company, especially as it is what gamers anticipate.
The leaks shed light on the crucial topic for Nintendo Switch fans and those that want Game Boy titles to come to the platform.
Nintendo Switch Leak: Game Boy Games Coming to Console?
A Twitter leaker broke the news to the public, and his information came from massive forums and websites like 4chan, where it talked about the files coming to the Switch. Trashbandatcoot, the leaker, said that it is only time that the GBA files to run on the consoles come to the Nintendo Switch Online platform for the world to experience.
Allegedly, there is a Game Boy emulator that Nintendo European Research & Development (NERD) developed for the hybrid console, called "Sloop."
The new emulator would run along with the Nintendo Switch's systems, and it would play the game files from Switch Online, all focusing on the GBA games available in the past decades.
Nintendo Switch Game Boy Leak: Emulator Coming?
There are no ports or emulators that users may download for playing Game Boy titles on the Nintendo Switch. However, the said emulator above will be the bridge to playing the platform's GBA games. It will be available on the Switch's console, running as a native code from within that needs no downloads or installation.
These information are only leaks and rumors from the leaker, and Nintendo did not yet confirm any developments regarding the Game Boy availability in the Switch console.
Nintendo Switch and its Offers
Nintendo is not only offering games and experiences via its Switch console but also an aftermarket program that will help people fix their JoyCon drift issues that persist. The case already has many fixes from Nintendo in terms of software patches and bug fixes that it brings for the console and its users to download for the device.
Calibration techniques and hardware replacements are also available.
Despite the console being five years old this year, it still saw a good performance on the market, being the top-selling device in February and beating the Valve Steam Deck, PS5, and Xbox Series S and X.
Nintendo's console is one famous device, giving various content and games that make it a top choice for gamers.
The hybrid portable console offers a lot of its games already, especially with massive franchises like the "Super Mario" series, "Pokemon," "Zelda" franchise, and more. However, it is going more classic than these modern versions of the famous games, especially with an alleged Game Boy integration for the gaming console.
