What's exciting about this new tech is that it allows consumers to find images without using Apple's Photos app. This was first discovered by Macworld's Senior Contributor Glenn Fleishman.

"It was surprising to me when I first saw it because Apple doesn't note it in the list of features for iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, nor does the company mention it in any of its support documents," said Fleishman via his official report.

According to 9To5Mac's latest report, the new text-searching feature on iPhone uses the same tech used in the popular Apple Live Text function, a technology that can recognize the texts in a captured photo or an online image.

However, some experts said that Apple has its own reasons for not announcing the new feature. One of these is that the new text-searching function is still unstable.

This means that the secret iPhone feature can't recognize printed texts in some images. But, once this technology is finalized or perfected, it will be useful.

As of writing, some users can already access this new feature. But, their devices need to have the updated iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 system versions.
