After March's "Peek Performance" event, Appel released the new Studio Display. While this could be the monitor that many users were expecting from the tech giant, it is still struggling with some problems.
Apple Studio Display Issues
First, some users complained that the 12MP FaceTime camera was not working as expected. Now it appears that users can't update the Apple Studio Display firmware properly.
According to an Apple forum, users report an error message when trying to update the Apple Studio Display. Around 50 users confirmed the problem.
Users said that the Apple Studio Display firmware update could not be completed. Just try again in an hour and if the issue persists, contact an authorized Apple service provider, according to 9to5 Mac.

In the thread, some customers said that they would try a Genius appointment to fix the issue. One of the users that were struggling with the Apple Studio Display said that it was not properly updated for him, but he was able to find a quick workaround.
The user said that he got the error for both his Studio Displays. The issue with the Studio Displays also prevented him from applying the latest macOS software update, which has the security fixes.
The workaround that he tried was shutting down the Mac Studio, unplugging the Studio Displays, plugging in an LG monitor, rebooting it, and then he did a macOS software update.
Of course, this could also be a server-side issue from Apple since the company had a massive outage a couple of weeks ago.
While it is still not clear what is causing the error message for the Studio Display, owners will have to wait a bit and try later.
Apple Studio Display Updates and its New Features
According to MacRumors, the Studio Display contains an A13 Bionic chip, the same chip from the iPhone 11 lineup, ninth-generation iPad, and 2020 iPhone SE.
This supports its 12-megapixel Ultra Wide front-facing camera with Center Stage and six-speaker sound system that has a Spatial Audio.
The A13 chip is connected with 64GB of onboard storage, but the display uses only 2GB at the current time.
While the presence of the A13 chip indicated that the display ran a variant of existing Apple software, just like how the HomePad and HomePad min run a version of tvOS, it runs a full, up-to-date version of iOS.
In System Information, under "Graphics," the Studio Display's software can be seen, showing that it runs "Version 15.4." This is the exact same build number as iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4, indicating that the Studio Display runs the entire version of iOS.
After the complaints from initial reviewers about the Studio Display's built-in webcam, Apple said that it discovered an issue where the system is not behaving as expected and will be making improvements in a new software update.
Since the Apple Studio Display runs iOS, the tech company's planned update to improve the quality of the webcam will come as part of an entire iOS update.
