'Tap to Pay' iPhone Feature Planned by Adyen for US Business Customers

Adyen plans to launch a new feature for iPhone users helping to pay with a simple tap. The new "tap to pay" feature for iPhone users will be available for business customers within the United States later in 2022.

Adyen to Launch Tap to Pay Feature with NewStore

According to a statement from AppleInsider, businesses that are using the financial platform of Adyen like NewStore will soon be able to accept payments from iPhone users with a simple tap. The feature is set to launch before the end of the year.

The announcement comes after Apple revealed its very own Tap to Pay feature for iPhone users while Stripe launched a close beta test for their version of the feature. Adyen is the latest company to announce that they will be adding the feature as well.

New Feature Won't Need Additional Tools and Separate Point of Sale Equipment

With that, Businesses that are already using the Adyen technology platform will now enable the Tap to Pay feature for their very own customers. Tap to Pay will allow users to make payments through using their iPhone easily.

The new feature makes payments more convenient while also simplifying the whole payment process. Tap to Pay won't need any additional tools and will no longer need separate Point of Sale equipment.

Adyen Aims to Offer a Reliable, Affordable, and Scalable Mobile Payment Solution

The COO of Adyen, Kamran Zaki, made a statement saying in-person payments have changed with customers asking for a better, reliable, affordable, and scalable mobile payment solution that is easily integrated.

Zaki noted that with businesses trying to use the iPhone to better serve shoppers, the new feature is expected to simplify the whole checkout process. Tap to Pay was described as a "great solution" for users that want a better in-person experience.

NewStore Already Rolled Out Thousands of iPhones

The COO noted that they are now excited to work continuously with Apple to enable iPhone users' secure and easy payment solutions. General Manager of Payments at Lightspeed, Jona Georgiou stated that their service is well known for using the latest technology for their merchants to have better business tools.

Georgiou stated that they would partner with Adyen to give Tap to Pay on iPhone, which could be a massive win for customers in the United States. NewStore and Adyen have already placed iPhones in the hands of thousands of associates in the store, as per NewStore founder and CEO Stephan Schambach.

By providing Tap to Pay to a number of customers, both NewStore and Adyen will be providing a more convenient way for iPhone users to pay for the products or services they purchase simply.

There was no specific release date given regarding Adyen's launch of the Tap to Pay feature for iPhone users.
