Apple iPhone 14 Pro Camera: Not a Larger MP, But Bigger Sensor for its 48-Megapixel Lens

Apple speculations feature a new factor about the iPhone 14 Pro's rear camera and it is a bigger sensor that will apply to the same 48-megapixel lens at the back for a better shot. The new speculation points out to a new camera system but will not necessarily upgrade to a larger MP compared to the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi, and other smartphone manufacturers.

The leak and speculation about the iPhone 14 Pro's rear camera came from an account called "Fishing 8" on Weibo, a Chinese social media forum that discusses many things. The leak featured technical specifications of the iPhone 14 Pro's rear camera and it is one of the earliest that dove into the numbers and details.

The rear camera will open its sensors 21 percent bigger compared to the last iPhone 13 Pro, and it will remain the same 48-megapixel camera setup for its main telephoto lens. Other lens specifications remain as it is, particularly with the zoom lens and the macro lens that the Cupertino giant includes in its three-camera setup for the iPhone.

iPhone 14 Pro to Retain 48MP, Not Changing Much

Mac Rumors said that the lens came from Sony, and many believe that the Japanese manufacturer made this for the company. It is the Dual Pixel Auto Focus camera that Apple showcases as the "Focus Pixels," bringing the camera system to its massive features for the public.

That being said, the 48MP camera is not changing as much as people speculated for the iPhone, but rather a larger sensor that would capture more light for better output.

The New Apple iPhone 14 Series

Right at the end of March, the famous Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, said that the iPhone 14 will sport a new camera bump that will be larger compared to older iPhones in circulation. Of course, the analyst also said that the camera will have a better configuration, but he also said that the device is going to feature the same 48MP rear lens.

That means the iPhone 14 series will not have much of a change for its rear camera, as opposed to what many thought would come.

Speculations and leaks also center on the iPhone 14 having significantly less storage compared to the iPhone 13 released as Apple's first 1 TB smartphone in existence. It may be so that the iPhone's last release did not see much of a massive sale or hype over the 1 terabyte expansion, or more people are going into the cloud service.

The new Apple iPhone 14 series may be coming this fall, and it will align exactly a year later since its last release since it is a regular release from the company. The new camera specs of the iPhone 14 Pro will bring a larger sensor that is enough for Apple to improve its capabilities and output, capturing more of the image compared to its last iPhone.
