The Lapsus$ members have been arrested by the UK police recently, but still, it's not enough indication that the hacking group will stop its operations.
The latest report showed that the remaining members of the notorious crew are still continuing in stealing personal information from their victims. Some are reportedly hacking business entities and destroying their networks.
Lapsus$ Members Remain at Large
As Gizmodo initially reported earlier this week, some Lapsus$ teen members were currently facing charges because of their illegal activities. However, it's not the ideal time to celebrate eliminating this group since some members are found to be engaging in hacking crimes.
The tech publication found out that some bad actors infiltrated Globant, a huge software developer. What they did was hijack important information of the company such as passwords. Later, the hackers gained access to the 70 GB storage of the firm full of confidential information.
As of press time, the cybersecurity researchers have not yet disclosed the extent of the damage that the remaining Lapsus members have done.
In an interview with Gizmodo, Globant confirmed that some information was indeed accessed. It apparently became limited to their end which means that only a select number of documentation and source codes were rolled out to the clients.
"To date, we have not found any evidence that other areas of our infrastructure systems or those of our clients were affected," the company told the tech news outlet.

Several Partners Might be Compromised
Android Police included in its recent report that Gizmodo has sought help from a person who knows how to handle cybersecurity issues. It was mentioned in the article that there were cases of data theft that took place in Globant.
If this is proven to be orchestrated by the notorious Lapsus$ cybercriminals, this might be a bad sign for the other companies who have partnered with Globant.
Being a global company means that it has already established a myriad of connections across the majority of the regions. The 19-year-old firm has reportedly collaborated with various tech titans such as Google Cloud, Apple, and Slack.
Furthermore, Okta, the latest victim that Lapsus$ hit , was also a partner of Globant. It is indeed alarming that the suppressed group of hackers is still operating even in few numbers.
This only proves that the arrests won't stop the cybercriminals from continuing their operations. It's always important to remain vigilant in everything you click on the internet. We never know when Lapsus$ will strike again or if there are surprise attacks that could take place in the next few days or weeks.
