Microsoft Windows deleted its tweet from its official Twitter account, which flaunted an Apple M1 iMac picture.
The tweet of the tech giant was sharing an article to guide users on cleaning their computers properly.
Microsoft Windows Deletes its Apple M1 iMac Tweet
The official Twitter account of Windows shared computer cleaning tips from one of their executives, Carmen Zlateff, who sits as the current Partner Director of PM for Windows 11 User Experience.
The tweet, which has now been taken down, shared "tips on how to clean and run your device safely and smoothly." And the advice comes from none other than the Microsoft exec herself.
Although the caption for the tweet did not draw controversy, the image attached to it was somewhat a surprise to some.
Instead of a photo that featured a Windows PC, the official Twitter account of the software firm posted an image that sported one of the computers of Apple, an M1 iMac.
It was a green iMac, which even comes with Apple accessories, such as the Magic Mouse and the Magic Keyboard, both in the same green colorway.
Apple M1 iMac and Windows
As per a news story by 9to5Mac, what's made the mishap more interesting is that the official Twitter account of Windows tweeted an iMac, which features an M1 chip.
The news outlet noted that it would not have been much of an issue if the iMac in the photo is an older Intel version. It comes as it could easily run Windows through its built-in app, Boot Camp.
However, M1 Macs are specifically known for their inability to install and run Windows natively-unlike their predecessors.
On top of that, it is worth noting that Microsoft also offers its own computer hardware under its Surface lineup, including the Surface Studio, Surface Pro, and Surface Laptop.
Despite that, Windows tweeted an iMac instead.
