Tesla Model 3 Joins Linn Creek Police Department
As per a news story by Teslarati, the Linn Creek Police Department has officially announced that it is adding the widely popular electric sedan of Tesla, the Model 3, to its fleet of patrol cars.
The Tesla Model 3 has been modified to give it a distinct police car look, adding "police" decals, along with flashing red and blue LED lights throughout its body. Not to mention that the department included essentials like a radio and a siren as well.
The Chief of the Linn Creek Police Department, Jeff Christiansen, himself, said in a statement that he has researched other vehicles, such as the Dodge Chargers and the all-new Ford Explorer, before deciding to go with the Tesla Model 3.
The police chief added that he even had discussions with the mayor of Linn Creek City, Jeff Davis, about his vehicle considerations.
Christiansen even admitted that they also talked about considering purchasing second-hand vehicles, as well as trying to fix their current fleet of broken police cars.

However, both the Linn Creek Police Department chief and major Jeff Davis have decided that it would be best to invest in Tesla Model 3 EVs.
The two learned that the cost savings from purchasing Tesla Model 3 vehicles will pay off, considering the rising prices of gas nowadays.
Teslarati noted in the same report that electric vehicle users have a significantly lower maintenance cost when compared to what they were spending when they were still driving gas-powered cars.
According to a recent report by a local news outlet, KY3, the Linn Creek police chief further pointed out that the Tesla Model 3 even boasts a 120,000 mile or eight-year warranty for its battery.
Christiansen says that a patrol car in the city typically runs 70 miles in a single day. So in a year, it should be around 12,000.
The mayor of Linn Creek, Davis, echoed the sentiments of Christiansen, saying that it is "a great investment." He also noted that the police department would be saving around $3,000 compared to running a Ford Explorer.
