Waymo's driverless rides will soon arrive in San Francisco. The American autonomous driving tech firm announced this effort as it wants to compete against Cruise, another self-driving company.
However, driverless car services are not open to the public. The giant tech firm will only offer autonomous rides to the official Waymo employees.
"Here in San Francisco, we are privileged to share the road with everyone who makes up this city," said Waymo's co-CEO, Tekedra Mawakana, via their official press release.

Thanks to the residents of San Franciso, who joined Waymo's Trusted Testers program, the autonomous company was able to test its driverless technology.
Mawakana said that the arrival of their new driverless car services is quite meaningful to their team.
Waymo's Driverless Services To Expand in Phoenix
Aside from San Francisco Bay Area, Waymo also said that its autonomous car services would expand in downtown Phoenix.
The company announced this detail after operating exclusively in the exurban towns of Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, and Gilbert for the past five years.
Aside from this, the company also said that its Trusted Testers members would also have access to its driverless services sooner than they think.
