Google allegedly abuse app developers. Because of this, France decided to fine the tech giant firm $2.2 million.
The Paris Commercial Court claimed that the search engine giant conducts malpractices against application creators on its official Play Store.
The issue between Google and app developers has been one of the main problems of the tech giant manufacturer. This also goes with Apple and other companies.
But, this time, Google's alleged abusive acts attracted the attention of the French government, leading to a million-dollar fine.
Google Allegedly Abuse App Developers?
According to Bloomberg's latest report, the allegations against Google forced it to adjust seven clauses from its contracts between 2015 and 2016.
The issue is that there is a 30% commission on revenues generated by the developers on Google Play Store. Back in 2018,
Google and Apple already faced a trial because of some imbalances in the rights and obligations concerning app creators.
But, Google claims that it has been trying to help maintain sustainable businesses for the app developers in the Play Store.
"We are always looking to provide more support for developers and help them build sustainable businesses, including recently decreasing our service fees to 15% or less for 99% of developers," said a spokesperson of the tech firm.
Because of this, the giant tech firm said that it is disappointed with the million-dollar fine imposed by the French Paris Commercial Court.
