Apple's iPhone SE 2022 is not seeing strong demand in the market now, and some reports center on the Cupertino giant cutting down on its production. The third-generation iPhone SE brings its 5G power to the Apple Peek Performance March event. Despite the excitement of the public and its intrigue over the new device, it did not bode well when it became available.
Apple iPhone SE 2022: Weaker Demand As Expected by Cupertino
Apple is cutting down the production of the iPhone SE 2022 due to weaker demand and conflict over Ukraine and Russia, significantly lowering its projected units by half. The initial plan of Apple is to have 30 million units of the smartphone device, but it is now down to less than its original units to deliver worldwide.
According to Nikkei Asia's report, the iPhone SE is the primary device that will cut its production by half, but the AirPods of the Cupertino giant also join it. Allegedly, an unnamed person familiar with the matter confirmed this report to Nikkei, and the company's production will only aim to deliver less of its original expectations.

iPhone SE 2022 is Cutting Production Down to 15 to 20M Units
According to famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Shanghai lockdown due to another surge in COVID-19 cases in the country is not the reason for the production to cut down on its manufacturing. However, the analyst also confirmed this as something about the demand of the public and its current conflict in the international dispute.
From its original 25-30 million target deliveries, Apple is now allegedly planning to deliver 15 to 20 million devices.
The iPhone SE 2022
When the public first caught a whiff of the new iPhone SE, there was massive excitement as it finally got a 5G version two years later since it last came out. Its companions also did not get the 5G at the time, particularly with the iPhone 11 when it came out earlier in 2019, only getting the new connections with the iPhone 12 released later in 2020.
Apple initially anticipated 30 million units for the iPhone SE 2022's sales this year, and the company's expectations were projected earlier when it first came out. However, fast forward to almost a month later, there were lower demands from the public, and it may seem that sales of the new smartphone were not that strong in people.
The new smartphone features the latest chip in Apple's lineup, focusing on a better connection with 5G and an improved camera system despite using the single-camera layout from the iPhone 8. The SE is still using the old design, and it may be one of the factors that affect its weaker demand as per the reports, especially now that the public is anticipating other factors from Apple.
