Hundreds of electric car units were recalled by the giant EV maker. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that Tesla recalled a total of 947 EVs.

NHTSA announced that the recollected electric vehicles do not comply with the federal rear visibility safety standard.

New Tesla OTA Update Solves Rearview Display Bug

According to Reuters' latest report, the new Tesla over-the-air software update is really important to ensure the safety of drivers.

NHTSA explained that if a rearview camera image is delayed, it will reduce the driver's road visibility, inevitably leading to an accident.

This issue currently affects some Tesla Model S and Model X that were manufactured between 2018 and 2019. Aside from these, Model 3s from 2017 to 2020 are also affected.

Although the EV problem is quite dangerous, the issue can easily be solved. Since it is a system bug, the rearview display issue can be fixed by installing the new Tesla OTA update.

Many experts said that OTA has been benefiting many EV drivers, especially since most dealerships associations across the United States are rejecting the presence of Tesla service centers.

Another Tesla Recall Recently Happened

Aside from the new rearview image display issue, another problem led to a massive Tesla EV recall. Mashable reported that around 570,000 electric cars were returned because of the Boombox feature.

This issue is not a bug. The Boombox function was specifically created to allow drivers to play music through their external speakers.

However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warned that this feature could scare many pedestrians and distract other drivers. NHTSA explained that this feature doesn't comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.

Despite the issues faced by the popular manufacturer, a recent date revealed that Tesla is still the best EV automaker in the U.S.

On the other hand, it is also the most trusted EV company, as stated by a previous study.
