Apple is now blocking iOS 15.4 downgrades after the iPhone maker stopped signing the previous version of the mobile operating system, 15.3.1.
Apple Blocks iOS 15.4 Downgrade
As per a news story by 9to5Mac, Apple stopped signing iOS 15.3.1, which began when the Cupertino-based tech giant rolled out the iOS 15.4 to its devices, including iPhones, iPod Touch models, and even iPads.
As such, those who have already installed the latest version of iOS could no longer install or downgrade specifically to the 15.3.1 version of the software.
9to5Mac noted in the same story that some iPhone users opt to go back to an older version of the iOS after experiencing significant bugs and other issues on the latest release.
However, Apple has already blocked any downgrades leading to the previous version of iOS.
But those who have yet to update their devices to iOS 15.4 could continue using iOS 15.3.1 without any issues. It is worth noting that the auto-update function should be turned off to avoid the latest version of the mobile OS.
Apple's iOS 15.4 Update
According to a recent report by Tom's Guide, the all-new iOS 15.4 update comes with tons of notable upgrades, along with other fixes.
For instance, the latest iOS now allows its users to use Face ID even if their faces are covered with masks. It comes about two years after the pandemic started forcing us to cover our mouths and nose to avoid contracting COVID-19.
What's more, the new iOS also introduces new emojis and a new Siri voice. Not to mention that it debuts the Live Text feature on both the Reminders and Notes app, allowing users to turn words from photos into texts.

iOS 15.4 and Battery Life
However, despite these welcomed features on iOS 15.4, some users are complaining that the battery life of their devices has significantly decreased after downloading the latest update.
A Twitter user that goes by the username laceup524 posted about it, saying that the "iOS 15.4 battery drain is absolutely ridiculous. He went on to tag the official account of Apple and Apple Support.
The Twitter account of Apple Support responded to the complaint and explained. The tweet from the tech giant claims that it is normal for both features and apps to adjust "up to 48 hours after an update."
