Nintendo's first mobile game "Dragalia Lost" is now officially shutting down on the platform. The Japanese console maker and the game developer Cygames confirmed this report.
Although the impending closure of the gacha fantasy role-playing game is already set, the game maker announced that it would still release its final content update later this month.
Nintendo Shuts Down 'Dragalia Lost' Mobile RPG
According to a report by Slash Gear, Cygames unveiled in its recent blog post that the last update for "Dragalia Lost" will roll out on March 31. The additional content will pave the way for the new characters who will arrive in the game before it closes down.
Additionally, the game developer added that the second part of Chapter 26 will reach its conclusion in July. In this regard, Cygames will no longer release any updates intended for the main story. However, the players can still gain access to the new characters and participate in the upcoming events, as well.
"The Dragalia Lost team would like to thank each and every one of our players, past, and present, for your love of and support for Dragalia Lost since its launch. It is our sincere hope that you have enjoyed your experience with the game from the moment you started playing it, and we will strive to ensure that you continue to do so for as long as time allows," the team behind the fantasy RPG stated in its recent announcement.

Why 'Dragalia Lost' Bids Goodbye to Mobile Platform
In another article written by Engadget on Tuesday, March 22, neither Nintendo nor Cygames did not reveal the reason why they came up with the decision of removing the mobile game.
It should be noted that this gacha game has a memorable headstart as a mobile RPG. Clearly, it was not a failure since two years after its official release, it was able to collect $146 million in revenue by October 2020, per Sensor Tower's estimate.
Across iOS and Android, it was installed by the players 3.9 million times. Compared to the previously released "Fire Emblem Heroes," the "Dragalia Lost" franchise showed more success when it comes to revenue.
It was the second Nintendo mobile game that was removed on mobile. The first one was "Dr. Mario World" which bid farewell last November.
From the looks of it, the developer could be weighing some options to improve it when it comes to its features. However, with the arrival of "Genshin Impact" and other RPGs, the competition became even harder for them.
There's a possibility that Nintendo could be exploring another option in its regard. It's likely that the game publisher might be pushing another game sequel from another title. There's also a chance that a new mobile game is under development at the moment.
