Uber is Canceling ‘Split Fare’ Feature in April According to Leaks, But It is Not the End for It

Uber is canceling its "Split Fare" feature by April, as spotted by leakers that caught an email for United Kingdom users of the famous global ride-sharing platform. The feature will cease to exist temporarily as it will receive a new feature and update from the company that would fix its systems to bring a better experience for users.

Mashable reports that several users in the U.K. region received emails regarding the "Split Fare" feature that will cease its offers for the public. The exit is only temporary as the company will replace it with a new feature that will also focus on it, without the need to necessarily stop the feature or end it on its current operations.

The exit will happen by April for the global users, including the United States. It will focus on bettering itself to provide users with the exact offers but bring a new experience to all. An Uber representative confirmed the end of the service to Mashable, and it will temporarily disable itself for an indefinite time and return when it is ready.

Uber 'Split Fare' Will Get Replacement Soon

Uber's app previously offered 'Split Fare' to the public as a means and way to share the ride with friends and avoid the hassle of paying cash to the driver or sending funds to overpayment channels. It may also help share the ride with strangers who also use the Uber app and avoid the requirement to exchange bank details on this access.

Soon, it will get a replacement from the ride-sharing company, and it is not entirely gone.

Uber and its Offers for Everyone

Uber is a famous ride-hailing app that focuses its service on providing transportation needs on a daily basis without the need to go on mass public transportation options. It may work as a taxi, but everything they need is on the app, with customers now allowed to see the drivers' ratings through its services after every interaction.

However, one of Uber's downside, for now, is its inability to provide options for cryptocurrencies, and users cannot pay with the digital coins or connect their accounts to the app's payment methods. There will be a massive change before Uber and cryptocurrencies can finally work together, but it is not a lost cause for the ride-sharing company.

The company may center on a ride-sharing app that downright shares the feature to others, focusing on a less expensive trip and no hassle for the public to pay when splitting the cab. Despite the feature exiting in April, it is not entirely gone or ending, as the company plans to make it better in the future, without a definite timeline.
