Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has another important speculation towards the Cupertino giant's Watch Series 3.
According to this prominent leaker, the said wearable device might go to end-of-life (EOL) or its final phase in the third quarter of this year for some reasons.
Apple Watch Series to Be Discontinued Soon
As 9to5Mac spotted through Kuo's tweet, the popular Apple smartwatch will allegedly be phased out in the next few months. Over the years, many users want to buy this gadget because of its cheap price despite its outdated features.
Since Apple rolls out a new software update every year, the technology has to catch up with what's new. Unfortunately, Watch 3 users might be stripped off with its features soon since it will be discontinued this year, per Kuo's claims.
Kuo said that the potential reason behind this decision is that the computing power might not have met the requirements for the latest watchOS.
It should be noted that once the Apple Watch Series 3 comes to an end, the users could still use the Apple Fitness+.
What the Users Think About This Rumor
Several users shared their opinions on the alleged discontinuity of the Apple Watch Series 3.
One user asked if Apple will really stop the watchOS updates right now. According to the person, it would be a big letdown for the customers who just purchased it this year.
Another commenter wrote that the problems regarding the Series 3 upgrades were overstated. He added that he once unpaired, upgraded, and restored the watchOS 7.
Interestingly, another person posted that the tech titan has discontinued 32-bit apps on all of its platforms. To note, the Watch Series 3 remains to be the lone device without any 64-bit architecture. He assumed that many unoptimized apps are still existing, as the company slowly gets rid of the outdated apps.
