As some Tekken fans have grown into the older and more ruthless Heihachi, it's well known that there hasn't been any news about what's going on with the franchise except actual tournaments. To bring back the once worldwide love for the joystick-crunching game, "Tekken" is making it to Netflix with an anime about Jin Kazama's origins called "Tekken: Bloodline."
Netflix Plans to Make a Tekken Anime After Success of Dota 2 and Castlevania
Although "Tekken" did come up with an anime back in the day, there's no denying that its story was somehow a bit short and didn't deal with the origins of Jin Kazama properly. According to the story by Engadget, with the adaptation of certain games like "Dota 2" and "Castlevania," the streaming platform is looking for another game to turn into a series.
As per the publication, Netflix has started a trend of looking into gaming franchises with large fan bases and turning them into series. Netflix recently dropped the trailer for "Tekken: Bloodline" on Twitter with a short clip of Jin's powerful roundhouse kick.
Bandai Namco's Popular Fighting Game Series
The upcoming series will be an adaptation of "Bandai Namco's popular fighting game series" and Tekken: Bloodline. The title pays homage to the bloodline of Jin Kazuma unfolding his story and where he truly came from.
Jin Kazama is a well-known protagonist in the "Tekken 3" game that launched back in 1996. The show is expected to follow Jin's quest for revenge to defeat the so-called "demon" who killed his mother.
Spoiler Alert: Heihachi Helps Jin Kazama on His Quest to Revenge
Spoiler alert, however, Jin Kazama decides to turn to one man he's had quarrels with in the past for help. That man is no other than Heihachi Mishima, still one of the most popular villains in the "Tekken" franchise.
As expected, the quest leads Jin to join the famed "The King of Iron Fist Tournament." This is where the other popular "Tekken" characters start joining in the series, but for now, fans will have to wait and see who will be joining the tournament.

No Official Release Date Just Yet
Luckily, the series is coming out sometime in 2022, although an official release date has not been given yet. Tekken: Bloodline's launch, as per Engadget, would mostly "depend on the companies it has partnered with" to bring one of the most popular gaming franchises to life.
With the addition of many more characters over the years, it is still unknown whether all of them will be joining the "Tekken" franchise. One thing is sure, however, and that is the fact that Jin Kazama's story still has a lot to unfold to "Tekken" fans.
