Smart home product maker Aqara has unveiled the new Smart Thermostat S3 which comes with HomeKit support. According to the latest report, this device will initially launch in Mainland China, so there's no word yet regarding its global release.
Aqara Smart Thermostat S3 Features
Previously, Aqara mentioned back in December 2021 that it was gearing up to bring a set of new smart home products for 2022. It turned out that the company has finally revealed one of them.
Initially, the appearance of the HomeKit-supported Smart Thermostat S3 was first reported by HomeKitNews, a known news and reviews site for smart home needs.
According to the source, the newly-launched thermostat can be operated through Siri so making voice commands is now made easier. There's no problem anymore when it comes to the user's control thanks to its HomeKit integration.
Furthermore, this regulating device component can have control in underfloor and water heating, not to mention its capability to manage HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems.
Aqara also incorporated a full-color LED display into this device. Speaking of its sensors, these parts are responsible for regulating the humidity and temperature inside a room. You can now see corresponding data linked to them.

Aqara Smart Thermostat S3 China Release
In another report from Apple Insider, the premiere launch of this smart home tool will only be available for Mainland China users. With that, expect that its digital assistant will use Mandarin as a medium for communication.
Speaking of personal assistants, the Smart Thermostat S3 will feature Xiao Qiao, the built-in AI assistant of Aqara for Chinese consumers.
Although, the global launch of this product is not yet announced., we might see soon that it would be reaching the American and European markets. Since people from these regions often use thermostats, Aqara could probably be preparing for a new wave of releases.
Over in Reddit, we spotted that one user commented about the newest Aqara HomeKit Thermostat device. According to the Redditor, it will not be used frequently in the UK and Europe.
"I doubt it will be compatible with OpenTherm, so with that said, It will not be much use in the UK / EU as Relay type thermostats are not very smart and not very efficient So I'll stick with Tado," the user wrote.
In another related report about thermostats, the Google Nest Thermostat faced a new lawsuit from Eco-Factor. The plaintiff asked the search engine giant to pay $5.16 million for this legal case.
According to the article, the tech titan has stolen intellectual properties from the complainant. Per a decision from the West Texas Jury, Google had infringed a patent from Sonos when it came to its wireless speaker.
