Twitter rolled out the "Downvote" and "Dislike" features on its platform, and it will allow the public to express their disagreement or disbelief on specific content. It will go unseen by the people, and only the author themselves will see the new feature and their statistics.
Two top Big Tech executives and founders, Marc Andreessen and Elon Musk, both expressed their excitement over the new feature of social media.
Twitter Downvote, Dislike Now Available: How to Use the Feature
Marc Andreessen made it known via the platform, like the many Twitter users that received the Downvote feature from the social media company. Andreessen said that he had not been excited to see a technology feature online since the release of the original iPhone, and the tech executive is known for being a venture capitalist firm co-founder.
Twitter's Downvote feature is a button that users would see on the bottom part of the tweet, alongside the likes, retweet, share, and the three-dot menu. Downvoting the tweet would successfully register it to the author but would not let other users know how many downvotes it received, avoiding a negative connotation on the statement.
Andreessen said users could make the Downvote feature public by showing a screenshot online.
Marc Andreessen, Elon Musk is for Twitter's Downvote
Andreessen's latest tweets show that he is excited about the new Downvote or Dislike feature on Twitter, and it offers a lot for the social media career. Another personality is excited about this feature, and it is none other than Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk that showed his agreement by replying to Andreessen's tweet about the new feature.
