Meta's Zucker-Vision, a new VR headset, is expected to replace iPhones, as well as other smartphones available in the market.
This is what the company's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, claims so far. He added that this new wearable VR gadget is a part of their effort to overthrow the use of smartphones.
If this is true, then one of Meta's long-term efforts will revolve around the development and production of virtual reality headsets and other AR/VR gadgets.
Meta's New Zucker-Vision
According to The Sun's latest report, creating the perfect VR headset is really quite challenging. The billionaire added that the reasons include size and aesthetics.

"In order for VR to take off, it's going to have to look good. It's one of the most interesting challenges of the next decade. Miniaturizing things is much harder," said Zuckerberg.
But, Mark claimed that creating virtual reality gadgets efficient enough to replace iPhones and other mobile devices is just a few years away.
As of the moment, the exact release date of Zucker-Vision is not confirmed. Not much of its features are also known yet.
But, you can expect more announcements from Meta as months or years go by. Right now, the tech firm is focusing on the newer models of Quest headset models, which are claimed to be comparable to iPhones when it comes to VR impact.
Meta To Roll Out Supervision Tools in VR
Aside from the new Zucker-Vision, Meta is also expected to release the Supervision tools in VR. Right now, these safety features are already available on Instagram.
Meta's official website provided the benefits that the upcoming VR Supervision tools will offer:
- View how much time their teens spend on Instagram and set time limits.
- View and receive updates on what accounts their teens follow and the accounts that follow their teens.
- Be notified when their teen shares they've reported someone.
In other news, some rumors recently claimed that the advanced Oculus Quest 2 exposes children to harmful content, leading to some criticisms in the U.K.
Meanwhile, Meta's new robotic eyeball is expected to track human eye movements.
