The cult classic 3D platformer "Glover" is returning on its remastered version, according to Texas-based video game publisher Piko Interactive. This Nintendo 64 title is finally coming to Steam as a re-released game for PC players.
Glover Re-Release to Land on PC Soon
For players who grew up with classic Nintendo titles, this is the perfect time to feel a blast from the past with the upcoming launch of the 1998 Nintendo 64 platformer "Glover."
A report from PC Gamer wrote that it started to be a 3D platformer featuring a ball and of course, a glove. At that time, fans should be careful in guiding the ball on its goal. For each level, you need to properly maneuver it using the iconic glove-shaped character.
The game was not originally developed by Piko Interactive. As a matter of fact, Hasbro published "Glover" at that time thanks to Interactive Studios as the video game creator.
After its blockbuster success and presence on Nintendo 64, the game expanded its reach to other consoles. After a year, it reportedly hit PlayStation to cater to more users in its regard.
The following year after its official release, a "Glover" sequel was expected to come out in 1999. However, as Polygon noted in its report, this concept was immediately canceled.

'Completely' Redone Glover
In a similar report from Polygon, Piko Interactive reportedly completed its acquisition of the "Glover" IP in 2017.
According to the latest tweet of the developer, the game was created to suit modern PCs, in addition to being "completely redone from the original source code, which in this case comes from the N64 game version.
Based on the recently-dropped trailer, we could anticipate improved graphics and high-resolution display for this modern remake. We could also expect that Piko will release "Glover '' with a revamped frame rate this time.
To preserve its classic vibe for the old fans, Piko decided to stick with its memorable "pixelated" model which will retain the use of 2D sprites. The notable change that took place here is the arrival of the 3D world models which complement the latest consoles.
Regarding the previous comments about "Glover," IGN released a full game review for this Nintendo 64 title. The gaming news publication wrote that it's indeed not a desirable-looking game for Nintendo 64, but pointed out its unexpected success.
IGN said that it achieved popularity because of the game's "intuitive gameplay mechanics and off-the-wall character design."
Speaking of its official release, "Glover" will be launched on Steam on April 20.
For the latest news, Tech Times reported that Take-Two Interface is currently facing a lawsuit involving "NBA 2K" loot boxes.
