Disney Plus is reportedly considering a cheaper tier plan, which would make it more accessible for those who are on a budget, but it would come with ads.
Disney+ Cheaper Version
As per a news story by 9to5Mac, Disney+ is currently notable for being one of the cheapest video streaming services in the United States, which only sells for $7.99 a month.
For that price, its users access a wide range of Disney titles, including massive franchises under its umbrella, such as Marvel and Star Wars.
However, according to a recent report from The Information, Disney is now considering a cheaper version of its $7.99 tier, which would be bringing down its monthly subscription fees for those who could tolerate advertisements.
The news outlet also stated that Disney is looking forward to making its direct-to-consumer business, which includes its streaming service, profitable come 2024.
It is worth noting that Disney+ itself has impressively amassed more than 100 million subscribers in total from various parts of the world.
But a cheaper and more accessible tier for those who might find the streaming service expensive could likely help Disney reach its goals of profitability.

Disney+ with Ads
To do so, Disney is reportedly considering stuffing ads on its streaming service to make its subscription fee cheaper than ever.
As the ad-supported tier is still reportedly in its planning stage, there are currently no concrete details regarding the cheaper Disney+.
Thus, what is only clear for now is that the American media and entertainment giant is rumored to be considering launching another tier for Disney+.
Streaming Services with Ads
It is interesting to point out that other streaming services out there are offering their cheapest their by including ads on their platform.
For instance, The Information noted in the same news story that Discovery+ offers a cheaper tier that comes Disney+.
Meanwhile, Paramount+ also comes with an ad-supported tier of $6.99 per month.
However, it is to note that if ever the latest news were to be believed, it would not be the first rodeo of Disney on an ad-supported streaming service.
In fact, the media giant offers both ad-supported versions of Hulu and ESPN Plus, which could be bundled with Disney+ for only $13.99.
On the other hand, as per the report by CNET, the streaming service of Disney currently has only a single tier, which could be paid either monthly or annually at $7.99 or $79.99, respectively.
