Nomura Holdings, a Japanese financial firm, announced its new Digital Company, a restructured version of its current Future Innovation company business.
This new effort of the financial company is expected to allow it to explore the rising cryptocurrencies and NFTs. As of the moment, the blockchain industry is attracting more investors.
These include billionaires, as well as different companies trying to take advantage of digital coins' rising values.
"This is an important next step in our digital evolution," said Nomura Holdings' CEO Kentaro Okuda via their official press release.
Nomura Holdings' New Digital Company
According to Coin Telegraph's latest report, the new Digital Company is expected to be fully operational this coming Apr. 1.
Okuda said that this new business department of Nomura Holdings will be a critical effort as the financial firm expands its operations in private markets, including the blockchain industry.
He added that the new Digital Company will enhance their uptake of digital technologies, as well as create deeper collaboration among external and internal stakeholders.
Aside from this, the newly restructured business of Nomura Holdings will also improve its offered client services.
Nomura Holdings as Latest Japanese Company Exploring Crypto
As of the moment, Nomura Holdings is the latest Japanese company entering the blockchain industry and exploring the rising cryptocurrency market.
The financial firm, which now has over $641 billion in assets, will use its accumulated budget to enter the rising non-fungible token and crypto businesses.
Aside from Nomura Holdings, other Japanese companies are also trying to take advantage of the rising blockchain sector. One of them is the giant Japanese e-commerce company, Rakuten Group.
This just shows that even Asian businesses are now showing more interest in NFT and digital coin investments.
In other news, many people are still falling victim to some serious crypto investment mistakes. Meanwhile, crypto firm founders claim that tax is better than restrictions since it will legalize digital currency transactions.
