Tesla Model S 600 Miles of Range: Elon Musk Reveals Scrapped Project, Why Did it Pass On the EV?

The Tesla Model S would have given the public a higher mileage for their use in their trips with 600 miles on its batteries. Elon Musk revealed that the company had this project more than a year ago but ultimately decided to scrap it for specific reasons, focusing on the car's ability. The 600-mile range Model S would have given the Plaid a run for its mileage.

Elon Musk revealed that there should have been a Tesla Model S that brought 600 miles of battery on the electric vehicle but has ultimately decided not to debut the car for specific reasons. The 600-mile range of the Model S will be unlike any other Tesla vehicle as it will be a massive traffic hauler for the user.

Six hundred miles is a lot and would give users the ability to go on longer trips with fewer stops to refuel the vehicle as it provides as much as 200 to 250 miles more than previous Teslas. However, Musk and the team decided to scrap the project because it will need more batteries to carry, making the car significantly heavier or unneeded battery mass.

Moreover, Musk said that it would have made the Model S worse, as not everyone utilizes the entire 400 miles before they recharge on current Teslas.

Elon Musk Reacts to Lucid EV's 500 Miles on Battery

Whole Mars Blog said that Lucid would be the first EV to bring 500 miles on its batteries, but Tesla will mass-produce the higher range vehicles soon. On that statement, Musk said a few key points that focused on why the 600 miles Tesla Model S did not appear for public release.

The CEO said that people would be alright with 400 miles, and 600 will only bring battery weight, making the car heavy.

Tesla Model S Plaid and High Range Cars

The Tesla Model S with the high range would not have even been the company's electric vehicle with the new 4680 batteries that it plans to create with Panasonic. Instead, it will be something from the company's laboratories that will give it a higher mass to store more batteries but bring more mileage for the user.

The Tesla Model S Plaid is one of the easiest high range cars of the clean energy company when evaluating its lineup for choices of a new EV. It can bring more than 400 miles of range for a single full charge which is an adequate amount of charge and mileage for a user, bringing the performance and longevity in one.

One of the Model S debuts is the Yoke steering wheel that gave a new look to Teslas.

The clean energy company naturally brings a massive contribution to its lineup that focuses on the users' needs and wants. However, it also wants to maintain different products and decide what is best for the electric vehicle when it releases. That example is the Tesla Model S that would have removed the higher miles.
