Apple’s AR/VR Rumors: Device Already Completed Production Tests, But is it Coming for a 2022 Release?

Apple faced a lot of rumors from its AR/VR headset that the company is not confirming or denying. Now, there are talks that it has already completed its production tests that may mean a lot to the development of the device, especially as it nears an Apple event for the Spring showcase event this March.

However, it may be too early to release the AR headset for the coming showcase.

According to a report by Mac Rumors, Apple has already completed its production test of the AR/VR headset that it develops now within the company's R&D, which remains a secret. There are still no confirmations for the device coming from the Cupertino giant, and several reports are skeptical of its 2022 release.

Mac Rumors said that the preliminary report came from DigiTimes' "Before Going to the Press" report that hinted at the completed production tests of the headset. DigiTimes shared no further information here, but it indicates that it is already past the design and development feature and may go into production for this year.

Apple AR/VR: Is it Coming this 2022?

A Bloomberg report refutes the arrival of the Apple AR/VR headset for 2022, saying that the company will now face production issues. It is known that the world is currently experiencing a chip crisis that affects the availability of devices that uses the internet or function from a system run by a computer. It may be a significant factor in its production.

Apple's AR/VR Venture

The Apple metaverse is a no-go for the company that will only focus on the AR/VR device that it will bring to work for the different offers in the industry. Apple intended that it will only focus on an AR/VR device despite not confirming this, too, as insider reports and leakers affirm that the company will leave the metaverse to those wanting to venture into it.

The current Apple CEO, Tim Cook, acknowledges the "potential" in the metaverse and will only invest in the technology once it finds its appropriate or worthy investment. Additionally, Apple already enforced more than 14,000 applications in the App Store that use its ARKit for its development in the iOS that focuses on its future.

Despite having no confirmations for the AR/VR venture, Apple is working a lot on making augmented reality a massive focus of the company for its apps and offers. The Apple events themselves even have AR tokens for people to enjoy before a showcase happens in the online world.

The reports now say that Apple completed its production tests, but it may still face many problems or, worse, a total scrap of the AR/VR development.
