In an initial report by KARE 11, an unknown man reportedly broke inside a local card shop based in Forest Lake, Minnesota. The scenario took place on Feb. 10 at midnight.

According to the owner, Punch Out Gaming, the robber managed to get out of the place and steal some valuable Pokemon cards which could reach thousands of dollars in price.

In the article, the shop used to buy and sell Pokemon cards and even video games online. It claimed that it was a "mom and pop" store for the customers. Most notably, the retailer is popularly recognized for its wide selection of Pokemon cards.

It's understandable why people wanted to pocket a highly-valuable collectible. Since the demand for these cards continues to skyrocket because of scalpers, people might resort to stealing them in an instant. However, it's still not a valid excuse to steal things that you do not own.

What Really Happened on February 10?

According to a news story by Kotaku, the man managed to go inside the shop by breaking a sidewall on the back of the store. From there, he already had an entry to the door leading to Punch Out Gaming.

He created a small hole in the wall as he infiltrated the storage area. Based on the footage, the robber reportedly took two hours getting all the Pokemon cards that he needed.

In addition, the Pokemon card thief did not open any doors in the store. He also did not trigger any alarms which might alert the owners of his presence.

In an interview with KARE 11, shop owner Jason Peterson admitted that he felt "numb" upon witnessing how the man took all of their Pokemon cards and other related items.

Meanwhile, co-owner Eric Johnson answered Fox 9's interview regarding the incident. He said that there was a possible accomplice who helped the burglar pull out the robbery. He noticed that several boxes had been moved for a short period.

"I realized how much money, product, and time we put into it, and I just started crying...I can't recover this product because our distributors don't have any. So, even with the insurance money, that doesn't do us any good," Johnson said.

Punch Out Gaming said that more customers reached out and wanted to extend a helping hand to them. The card shop said that it's looking forward to coming back from the tough mishap.

The card store clearly captured the face of the suspect through the CCTV. For those who recognize the person, you can call the owners at (651) 464-9820. You can also keep in touch with the Forest Lake Police for more details if you know the robber's whereabouts.
