Right now, the giant tech manufacturer is being criticized by its employees across the globe due to the salaries they receive.

Other reasons include toxic work environments and practices. If the secret union is true, then Apple will face another trouble.

This activity is alarming for Apple because the union is believed to be backed by major national unions. As of the moment, the giant tech company has more than 500 retail locations across the globe.

Around 270 of them are located in the United States. On the other hand, Apple currently has over 65,000 retail staff that are actively working.

The giant iPhone maker generates 36% of its income through the products sold from its physical stores when it comes to revenue. This is almost half of Apple's $366 billion revenue back in 2021.

Possible Reason Behind the Unionization

As of the moment, Apple Store employees clearly play a major role in earning more revenues. However, it seems like they are not getting enough from the tech firm.

MacRumors reported that the secret union is being formed since employees believe that the iPhone maker's offered salaries are not keeping up with the inflation rate.

Although the manufacturer recently provided raises to some retail staff, workers claim that they are not enough as prices rise in the United States.

Previously, three Apple Stores had been closed down because of the rising COVID-19 cases. Also, Apple's free two-hour delivery was launched.
