Tesla Model Y Giga Texas Sighting

As per a news story by Electrek, a new drone shot captures several Tesla Model Y production units parked at the Gigafactory Texas, which were piled up under car covers.

That said, the news outlet further suggests that the deliveries of the first-ever structural battery pack EVs of Elon Musk's tech giant seem to be near.

It is worth noting that Tesla has previously confirmed that the initial production units of the new Model Y SUVs are being manufactured in the Texas Gigafactory.

The EV tech giant plans to release the brand new fleet of Model Y electric SUVs from the Tesla facility by the end of the first quarter of 2022, which is in March.

Now, a new drone shot taken from the Giga Texas shows nearly a hundred Tesla SUVs sitting on the grounds of the facilities.

The drone operator, Jeff Roberts, who goes by the Twitter username peterdog15, tweeted that the numerous Model Y production units are now gearing up for their deliveries.

According to a news story by Teslarati, although most of the Model Y SUVs are hidden under car covers, some vehicles were flaunting their paintwork of either black or blue.

The drone shot also showed employees of the Giga Texas parking some additional new Model Y, which has yet to be covered like the rest of the parked upcoming EVs that were seen on site.

Tesla Model Y Deliveries

Teslarati noted in the same report that the CEO and founder of Tesla, Musk, previously said in the earnings call of his EV tech giant that the Model Y Giga Texas would be starting its deliveries once it gets its final certifications.

When asked about when the certifications would be granted, the Tesla boss only vaguely said that it would be "fairly soon."

Meanwhile, it is interesting to point out that the order page of the Model Y Performance says that its expected delivery date is in April 2022. On the other hand, the Model Y Long Range is expected to be delivered sometime in August 2022.
