Apple announced on Thursday, Feb. 17 that it will now stop signing iOS 15.3 for its devices.

According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple initially rolled out iOS 15.3 to all product users last Jan. 26. From there, the company launched it with an updated patch which solves the security flaw in the Safari browser.

This vulnerability could steal some confidential information from an individual including the Google ID by allowing websites to gain access to the URLs which have been clicked or visited.

With that, the company was alerted about this security flaw which led to the release of the latest iOS 15.3.1 version. This also brought another WebKit patch to address the issue of "not responding" Braille displays.

With the arrival of the newest iOS update, downgrading to iOS 15.3 is no longer permitted. However, sticking to the old builds can still be made possible through jailbreaking the device.

Oftentimes, people revert the latest version to the old one because they want to stay away from bugs. Sometimes, rendering a new upgrade for the iPhone results in the appearance of these flaws.

As of the moment, you need to wait for further announcements from Apple about the future updates for iOS 15.3.1. Those who are currently using the iOS 15.4 beta will not be allowed anymore to downgrade their devices to iOS 15.3.

What Apple Users Think of this Downgrade

In a discussion thread from MacRumors, several users share their views about the recent update regarding the iOS 15.3.

According to one user, the Cupertino giant should allow them to reinstall the original iOS version for a device. He added that the users should also be allowed to upgrade each iOS major release like in the case of reinstalling iOS 6, 8, and 9.

Regarding privacy, another one wrote that Apple should halt signing the release for the old OS so it could focus more on bringing "privacy-invasive" features.

Furthermore, a commenter who appears to be a "Macrumors regular" said that lawmakers should do something on this end.

He stressed out that people should "always" be allowed to revert to their desired iOS whenever they want, given that the version is not older than the original one that came from the iPhone.

In another report, Tech Times wrote that the current Safari version beta will now require users to input their usernames when logging in. This update rolled out on iOS 15.4 for iPads, iPhones, and even Macs (thru macOS 12.3).

Meanwhile, the tech titan unveiled its update for iOS 15.2.2.1 last January. The article included that there were new features and security fixes that were added for the said OS.
