5G's rollout reportedly boosted the speed of cellular data significantly in various parts of the world, giving smartphone users a faster internet connection on average.
5G Rollout
As per a recent report by Open Signal, the widespread rollout of 5G across the globe has increased the average speeds of cellular data "almost everywhere."
Open Signal further pointed out that download speeds have increased in the past three years.
To be more precise, the key findings of the Open Signal study specifically say that smartphone users in most markets saw an increase in their average download speed. It was from 2019--which was before 5G started rolling out--and 2021 when it has been more widespread than ever.
Open Signal further said that since 5G started rolling out in various parts of the world, it has "seen major impacts on the overall mobile network experience of users."

5G and Increases Data Speeds
According to a news story by 9to5Mac, the study 'unsurprisingly' showed that the internet speeds globally have already doubled thanks to the rapid deployment of the 5G connection.
Not to mention that the next-gen connectivity also increases the capacity of the overall network, preventing internet congestion, which ruins the quality of its speed.
The 5G study looked into various locations and markets, such as South Korea, the Netherlands, and Malaysia.
It is worth noting that it not only studied markets wherein 5G has entered early on, it also included countries that were late in the game of the next-generation connection, such as New Zealand and the Czech Republic.
South Korea currently stands at the top of the average speeds rankings with an impressive 129.7 Mbps on average by 2021. Way back in 2019, before 5G was a thing, the Korean nation only averaged at 52.4. Mbps.
Open Signal further noted that Germany, along with other nations, such as Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the Philippines, also increased their average speeds since 5G started taking over.
The average speed in the Philippines is now at 15.1 Mbps, which is still an improvement from its slow 7 Mbps cellular connectivity performance in 2019. Thailand also got faster download speeds of 17.4 from the previous 5.7 average.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia went from 13.6 to 31.1 Mbps thanks to the arrival of the next-gen wireless connection, whereas Germany improved from 22.6 Mbps to 48.7 Mbps.
