The "Super Mario RPG" director, Chihiro Fujioka, himself admits that he also wants to create a sequel for the first role-playing game for the massive "Mario" franchise way back in the 90s.
'Super Mario RPG'
The first "Mario" RPG has yet to have a follow-up sequel since it was released decades ago. Nevertheless, fans of the "Mario" gaming franchise are still clamoring for much-awaited part two.
As per a news story by The Gamer, even if it has been years since the first "Mario RPG" was released, a sequel release is still getting attention nowadays. It comes as the 90s gaming title featured some of the most beloved gaming characters of the Japanese giant, Nintendo.
Not to mention that "Super Mario" is still one of the biggest gaming properties of Nintendo, if not the largest out there.
What's more, The Gamer noted that there are not quite a lot of fresh alternatives for the "Super Mario RPG." That said, some are still heavily clamoring for its sequel.
Meanwhile, as per the latest story by My Nintendo News, 26 years have already passed since the debut of the "Super Mario RPG: Legends of the Seven Stars" on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, which is shortly known as SNES.
'Super Mario RPG' Director
Now, according to a recent report by Nintendo Life, the director of the first "Mario" RPG himself echoes the clamor of its fans, noting that he himself wants to create a sequel as well.
The director of the sought-after RPG gaming title, Fujioka, said that in a recent interview with a YouTube channel that goes by the name MinnMax.
Fujioka was asked in the video if he still wants to create another "Mario" RPG "at some point in" his career.
The director of the game readily answered the query, admitting that he actually wanted to.
Fujioka puts his response this way: "Yeah, I would absolutely love to make one...yeah, so in my career, I've been involved in a lot of games."
The "Mario RPG" director further added that he specifically would love his last game in his career to "be another Mario RPG game." However, he went on to mention that he would want it to happen "if possible."
He added a disclaimer that he personally thinks both "Mario and Luigi" are cool. However, Fujioka still wants an option to only control Mario, just like in the "Mario RPG.
