The first Intel crypto chip is now expected to arrive before 2022 ends. However, this would still depend on the giant chipmaker's production and design efficiency.
Once the new crypto mining SoC is released, many companies and individual miners will have a more advanced GPU that can allow them to generate cryptocurrencies smoother and faster.
Intel said the new crypto-focused chipset will be called the "blockchain accelerator." PC Mag reported that the chipmaker's new crypto SoC might be the most energy-efficient model once it arrived in the market.
First Intel Crypto Chip
According to The Verge's latest report, the first Intel crypto chip will be unlike the current SoC models usually used by blockchain miners.

"We expect that our circuit innovations will deliver a blockchain accelerator that has over 1000x better performance per watt than mainstream GPUs for SHA-256 based mining," said Intel's SVP Raja Koduri.
If you don't know what SHA-256 is, it is the hashing algorithm used to create Bitcoin tokens, as well as other digital coins.
Currently, the exact release date of the new Intel SoC is still not confirmed.
Intel Crypto Chip's Other Details
Although not much detail is confirmed about Intel's upcoming SoC for crypto mining, the giant chipmaker said it would soon announce further information at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference.
This event is expected to start on Feb. 20. On the other hand, Intel also announced that it would make a presentation titled "Bonanza Mine: An Ultra-Low-Voltage Energy-Efficient Bitcoin Mining ASIC" on Feb. 23.
On the other hand, various experts claimed that Intel's effort would further increase the competition in the ASIC Bitcoin-mining industry. However, this will still depend on the efficiency of the new SoC.
In other news, Intel's next U.S. site will have a landmark investment in Ohio. Intel's $1 billion funds have been launched for the development of a foundry innovation system.
