"Dead Island 2" is allegedly coming this year for a release, and it came from a reputable leaker known in the gaming industry, Tom Henderson. The insider posted a new video on his YouTube page that talked about the game's development throughout the years, significantly as it jumped from one studio to another, before settling with its third developer, Dambuster Studios.

Henderson said that the game is picking up on its development and will be available sometime towards the end of 2022 or early 2023. The insider also said that its development under Dambuster is going great, looking at a good confirmation from the developers in the coming months.

Dambuster will pick up significant plot elements but will improve on the content and where the game lacks from its original release. It will still take place in California.

The game was announced in 2014 with a gameplay trailer, but after that, it did not have any news about its development and track. The change in developers may mean that certain elements are to change, and its originality from Techland would suffer.

However, Henderson claimed that Dambuster would stay faithful to the game and would not differ significantly from the 2014 trailer that gave a sneak peek of the title.

'Dead Island 2' and its Relevance to Gaming

Techland's "Dead Island" franchise became a massive hit in the early 2010s, and it received an enormous following and a diverse fanbase for its gameplay. The game's popularity is immense, and it was even going to have an entire feature film that centers on the game's plot and what it has to offer.

Sadly, both the game and film had no news after the many disputes Techland faced earlier.

Despite its detachment from Techland, the game continued its development despite bouncing from one studio to another. Back in 2014, the game's first gameplay trailer was released by its then developers, and it gave gamers hope for the popular franchise's sequel despite not coming from Techland's development like the original.

Fast forward to eleven years later, "Dead Island 2" is one of the most talked-about games of the present, especially as hints of the sequel coming for this year is massive and taken over the community. Fans are getting excited for the release this year, and it is not even a confirmed deal from the current developers, Dambuster Studios.

For now, take this information with a grain of salt.
