Apple Music Android beta code hinted at a new classical music app for the streaming service of the iPhone maker. The update also comes with a new and improved widgets design.
Apple Music Android Beta and 'Classical App'
Apple has been rolling out the beta version of its Music app on Android, which also hinted at the possibility of a new standalone app specifically for classical music.
To give context to it, as per the report by Apple Insider, the Cupertino-based tech giant previously took over niche streaming service Primephonic, which focuses mainly on classic tunes.
Apple's purchase of the company took place in 2021. This time around, it appears that a new "Apple Classical" app is potentially coming our way. However, it is to note that nothing is official just yet.
The news outlet said in the same report that a code beneath the new beta app of Apple Music on Android reveals something new with the streaming service of the iPhone maker.
The code of the beta app includes the text "Apple Classical, which specifically reads as: "Open in Apple Classical."
According to a report by 9to5Google, the code appears to introduce an option to open a song in a new "Apple Classical" app.
However, the tech giant has yet to announce any details regarding the said service. So the code from its beta app could merely be a test feature that could not see the light of day in the stable version.
That said, it is best to take this latest sighting with a grain of salt to avoid any disappointments.
Apple Music Android Widget Design
Meanwhile, 9to5Google added in the same news story that the latest beta update introduces an improved look of the Apple Music widget on Android.
The news outlet noted that Apple Music has had two variants of Android widgets for a long time now.
Although the latest beta still includes two widget options, the "Apple Music Player" is now both taller and wider.
On top of that, the other widget, which is known as the "Apple Music Recently Played," now comes in 3x1 and 3x2 size options, at least for the beta version.
What's more, the Apple Music Android widgets now come with an interactive design theme, which follows the colorway of the look of the album artwork.
