Samsung brought its new tablet for the public to see, and it is the "big and bold" Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra that aims to take on the iPad Pro on this release.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra: Here's What to Expect
Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Tab S8 and its variants during the last Galaxy Unpacked event, and it brings the latest device it has to offer for a larger screen. The tablets still provide a mobile approach compared to computers, essentially like bigger smartphones with the same operating system and processes inside them.
The Galaxy Tab S8 brings the base trim, S8 only, the S8+, and the S8 Ultra at their respective orders. Samsung said that the new S8 is the boldest, biggest, and most versatile tablet the company produced in years, and it brings a different take compared to old models.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 features a 14.6-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4K capabilities. Its processor is a 4nm chip which Samsung says is the fastest chip in its tablets to date. Moreover, it offers 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Storage on its Ultra variant.
All three versions offer an expandable microSD card option.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra vs. iPad Pro: Notch?
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is a direct competitor to Apple's iPad Pro. It takes on both the devices from the Cupertino company featuring the A-series version and the M1-packed tablet. However, it goes back on its word for having a notch on its front screen as it sports a dual 12 MP front-facing camera, as it slammed Apple in 2021 for its notch.
Samsung's Galaxy Tab: Is It Worth it?
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra was unveiled ahead of its launch event, and it brought the leak for the tablet instead of launching alongside the S22 in the Galaxy Unpacked showcase. The new tablet brings a different look from its previous releases, and it ushers in a new era for Galaxy Tabs releasing from Samsung, compared to the Tab S7's release.
The event brought two of the top flagship devices on the market, and the Unpacked event ushers in the 2022 release of the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy Tab S8 for the public. Both devices remain at a limited preorder available now to get one's device ahead of others when it releases to the public by March.
Samsung also offers exclusive freebies like the Samsung Keyboard Cover and the Galaxy Buds Pro.
Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 brings a new take that focuses on the notch, which the South Korean company introduced in years for the tablet. The design may be a fresh take, but it minimizes users when using it as it is smaller than the iPhone and MacBook Pro's notch.
The Tab S8 is an excellent alternative for the iPad Pro if the user is looking for an Android counterpart with the power to handle business requirements for a tablet.
