MeetKai, an artificial intelligence company, is now entering the metaverse trend. Aside from offering new VR experiences, this tech firm also offers new voice assistants.
The company's CEO, James Kaplan, shared their beliefs about the evolution of AI assistants. He said that most companies follow one path to creating their own voice or virtual assistants.
However, Kaplan said that this will not work since their method is quite old. Although they are trying to evolve this kind of AI assistant tech, there will always be barriers.
Now, MeetKai wants to break these barriers to offer better and more conversational AI assistants.
MeetKai's AI Breaks Bounderies!
During Kaplan's exclusive interview with Tech Times, he shared MeetKai development team did not follow the path taken by Siri's developer, Apple, and other giant tech companies.

He also explained that this is quite risky since it's either the path they are taking is pushing them down, but it could also lead them to something new.
"We started the company based on the idea that it's a gamble. It's a moonshot as they say for startups and we succeeded. Actually, we found approaches that work to allow us to have conversational AI," said Meetkai's CEO.
He added that their AI assistant has a different evolutionary path compared to Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa.
Aside from this, he also explained that Siri, Alexa, and other voice assistants always rely on Google search to answer their users' questions. James questioned this method, saying how people can actually have a good conversation AI experience if they are not directly conversing with Google.
Now, he and his development decided to do this by making their conversation assistants that would connect consumers to their virtual environment. This means that if you ask MeetKai, it will not provide you answers from Google.
Instead, it will answer your questions using the company's information database. Since this is quite complicated, Kaplan said that it would still take a very long time to complete their new metaverse and AI voice assistant technologies.
What Makes MeetKai Different
MeetKai's AI assistants are quite different from Siri, Alexa, and other voice assistants commonly used right now. This is because they can remember and understand the questions of their users.
Aside from this, MeetKai's voice assistants are the first ones to be non-binary models. This means that these AI-powered assistants can identify "they" and "them."
