The PlayStation Blog announced that new betas for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 are coming to bring the systems a new feature for users to enjoy. The Party Chat is coming for both consoles, the PS5 and PS4, and would allow open and closed channels for the gamers who access this feature when communicating with their friends.

On the other hand, an exclusive feature for the PlayStation 5 for the US and UK preview brings Voice Command that console owners can use to open games, apps, settings, and help control media playback on the console.

Users under the beta program can enable the different features available in the beta in the Settings. The voice command's keyword to respond is "Hey PlayStation!"

How to Signup or Join the PlayStation 5 Beta?

The Party Chat and Voice Command are not the only beta features available now. It includes accessibility features, UI changes for the PS5, Share Screen from the Create Menu, change the Voice Chat Volume, SharePlay update, and reporting voice chats.

Users can join the beta by signing up via the PlayStation website's beta program, and are required to be in these countries:

  • United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Germany

The beta users also need to provide complete feedback on the systems for Sony Interactive Entertainment's use.

PS5 and its Relevance Now

The PS5 is a famous console that was first released in 2020 and became publicly available by 2021. However, the public will beg to differ with its availability last year as stocks are hard to come by, with the chip shortage plaguing its distribution. Sony is one of the most affected companies in this global issue as they cannot supply the world with the stocks of its latest console.

Some reports say this problem will occur until 2023 for the world, and that the global distribution of consoles and technology will still face the issues. Sony already made adjustments with the PlayStation 5's production units that went down to 14.8 million units for this year, as the company faces the shortage.

Nevertheless, the PlayStation 5 is a relevant device now and people are excited to get their hands on the console that is coveted since it was first released last November 2020. The Beta program for the PS5 aims to bring the features of the console for gamers to enjoy before having them for a release. It could also determine if the feature will stay or go in the console's system.
