  1. Open Twitter and login with your credential.

  2. For desktop users, go to the navigation bar on the left side. More options will appear after you tap this and don't forget to click on "More.." If you are a mobile user, you can access the navigation bar by clicking your display picture or profile picture located in the top left corner of the screen.

  3. From the navigation bar, tap the "Settings and privacy."

  4. Then, click on "Privacy and safety." to get started.

  5. After accessing the privacy settings, go to the "Discoverability and contacts" to limit the audience that can view you and your activity.

  6. Lastly, you will be directed to a menu that will show you how you can control the people who can search your account on Twitter. From there, you can now finally toggle the individuals who can find you through your contact number or email address.

Note: These settings can be changed every time you want so you can make your account more viewable and available to other people. Just be mindful that once you allow them to find you, they can read your posts and be updated on the changes on your account.

Twitter's DM Test is Bad

Regarding Twitter's test about DM, The Verge spotted that this could pave to an easier way of conversing from your timeline. However, there's a disadvantage to the said feature.

According to Eliza Orlins, a public defender from New York City, the platform could give the users a safety feature to disallow sending direct DM from the tweets.

The reason why it's a bad feature to add is that it exposes users to a larger ground of harassment. Once intruders know that they can send you a DM through your tweets, they could right away send a message without leaving the timeline.

Meanwhile, Tech Times reported that Twitter could soon release a long-form feature for articles and other write-ups.
