Transferring apps from an Android device to an iPhone is essential to complete a user's transition to the Apple ecosystem.
Thankfully, Apple has an app that Android users could use to transfer most of their data from their previous phone to make the transition much more seamless and somehow less tedious.
The app that goes by the name Move to iOS could be downloaded on the Google Play Store on your Android device.
How to Transfer Apps from Android to iPhone
As per CNET, before beginning the transfer process make sure that both the Android device and the iPhone are connected to the Wi-Fi and have been adequately charged.
- Turn on your new iPhone until you reach the Apps & Data part of the setup.
- Then, select the "Move Data from Android" option.
- On your Android device, install the Move to iOS app from the Play Store.
- After which, open the newly installed app.
- Then, switch to your iPhone and select Continue.
- Your iPhone screen should show the code.
- Enter the code from your iPhone to your Android device.
- Back to your Android device, tap Continue and Agree.
- The step-up will then automatically install the free apps from your Android device that has a matching counterpart on the App Store.
How to Transfer All Apps from Android to iPhone
Although Apple's Android app, Move to iOS, transfers most data from your other device, such as contacts, photos, videos, and calendars, it does not include all of your previous apps, as per the report by iMore.
It comes as not all apps from the Google Play Store are not compatible with the apps on iOS. On top of that, some apps on Android are not even available on the iPhone or vice versa.
That said, if ever you are trying to transition from a Pixel, Samsung, or OnePlus smartphone to an iPhone, you'll need to follow the steps below to download other apps that have not been automatically installed.
- Open Google Play Store from your Android device.
- Then, go to the "Installed" section.
- It should show a complete list of all of the installed apps on your smartphone.
- Manually check the apps from your Android device.
- Then, download the apps on the Apple App Store of your iPhone.
That's it. After doing so, all of your apps from your previous Android device should now be installed on your iPhone.
However, it is worth noting that there could be limitations that would make transferring all apps impossible. For instance, the app on your Android may not be available on your Apple device.
