KFC released its first collaboration with Beyond Meat with a concoction called "Beyond Fried Chicken" that features plant-based nuggets to support a lifestyle that abstains from consuming meat. The question now remains for the plant-based nuggets on how long would it stay on the menu, and one of the most important, "is it vegan?"
KFC Beyond Fried Chicken Releases Today: Plant-Based Nuggets
According to a press release from KFC (via Yum Brands.com), Plant-based nuggets are now available in their stores for people to taste and enjoy. The plant-based nuggets offer absolutely no chickens in the mix, making it an alternative option for people that crave popular fast food snacks.
People can order the nuggets via KFC's website, where the plant-based nuggets are available in a different menu. Here, people can choose from other quantity options, including a 6-piece meal for $6.99 or a 12-piece set for $13.99 plus tax.
Prices may also vary in a different locations.
KFC offers its Honey Barbeque, Ranch, Honey Mustard, and special KFC Sauce to accompany the plant-based nuggets.
Plant-Based Nuggets: Is It Vegan Friendly and Supports It?
The plant-based nuggets are not made in vegetarian or vegan ways, as the press release revealed in its statement. The disclaimer means that it may not be able to support the eating preferences of the community, and maybe something to affect their diet.
People can check the Nutrition Guide of the new Beyond Meat plant-based nuggets to know more about the snack.
KFC and other US Fast Food using Meat Alternatives
KFC is not the first to partner with alternative food manufacturers in bringing new options for their menus, suiting those that sport a different lifestyle, unlike the general public.
One of the most popular alternative companies includes Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, bringing their plant-based options for people that opt away from animal meat.
One popular release was with Burger King's "Impossible Whopper," which is the option that people can take and still cherish the "Taste of King" as what the fast-food restaurant chain promises.
Another is with McDonald's and Beyond Meat's plant-based burgers put into the fast food's "McPlant Burgers" that offer the alternative meal.
However, the problem with the offers of these fast food companies is that these options are available for a limited time only and do not stay on the menu for long. The trend is the same for KFC, as the company said that it would only be available until supplies last, and that does not give it a definite time for people to seek out the plant-based nuggets.
