"Forza Horizon 5"'s player count has been impressive during its launch, but it has plunged by 75% since it was launched back in November.
It comes even as the latest installation from the massively popular "Forza" franchise of game developer, Playground Games, bagged a total of three awards during the Game Awards 2021, as per the news story by Sportskeeda.
One of the awards that "Forza Horizon 5" got is the Best Sports/Racing Game for 2021.
'Forza Horizon 5' Player Count
On top of that, according to a report by GamesRadar, the gaming title announced that it surpassed the 10 million player base mark last Nov. 19. A few days after it was officially released last Nov. 7 and was included in the Xbox Game Pass on Nov. 9.
As such, the latest iteration of the "Forza Horizon" was dubbed as the biggest Xbox Game Pass launch ever. Not to mention that it is also the largest Xbox game launch since the gaming console of Microsoft saw the light of day.
It is worth noting that shortly after its launch or after 24 hours, the gaming title by Playground Games has already garnered a whopping 4.5 million players.
'Forza Horizon 5' Player Count Plunges
However, despite its massive success during its launch, it looks like its fame is already faltering after more than a month since it was released, at least according to the data of Steam Charts.
The figures of "Forza Horizon 5" from Steam Charts showed that there is a steady decline from its active player base since its debut.
It is interesting to mention that since its monumental release, its player count has gone down by about 75%.
'Forza Horizon 5' Bugs and Issues
Although the reason behind the dwindling numbers of "Forza 5" players still remains to be seen, Sportskeeda suggested that it could be attributed to the numerous bugs found in the game.
Some players also echo the opinion of the news outlet as some have been vocal about their departure from the game due to persistent matchmaking issues.
The developers of the game have been killing some of the serious bugs in the racing game. However, some issues persist in ruining the massively popular gaming title, such as the never-ending loading screens and constant crashes.

Biggest 'Forza' Franchise Launch
Nevertheless, as per the report by WCCFTech, the "Forza Horizon 5" broke sales records of other "Forza" franchise releases in the past.
The data from NPD further showed that "Forza 5" took the third spot in the top games on Xbox. Meanwhile, in general, it was the fourth best-selling game last month.
